Bird Shape Album

Cardinals are the official bird of Christmas, but I also wanted to make a mini album that can be used on a daily basis. I got the bird album from the dollar bin at Michael's (yes, I do dive in them...lol!), and covered it with paper from K&Co's Blossomwood paper pack. I used copyright-free clipart for the cardinal images in the album. The lollipop flower on the front cover is from K&Co. The rest of the flowers are from Prima.

Steampunk Debutante Altered Notebook

I love Steampunk and it was such a happy coincidence that the Graphic 45 paper came in peach. lol! I bought this notebook from Hobby Lobby at 50% off, and I covered it using paper from K&Co's Handmade Stack. The main image is from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante paper pack. I used lace, pearls and a flower from Prima. I wanted more pearls, so I used Bronze Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

I made a mini folder for the inside cover. It was quite easy; all I did was trim and inch from a piece of 8"x8" paper, scored the bottom part at 3", then folded it over. I also made small diagonal slits to make opening and closing so much easier. The Paris-themed paper on the first page is from Gardiner.

On the back of the notebook is a dressform from the Summer in Paris cartridge, that I cut at 5".

The Eiffel tower was also cut at 5". I used some Steampunk-themed stamps at the back cover to personalize it.

Shoes, Matching Purses and a Gift Card Holder

I have been busy with Christmas swaps and my Secret Sister got her box last Monday, and that gave me the go signal to post my projects for her. I used paper from last year's The Christmas Stack from DCWV for all three projects.

I used Ellen Hutson's template for these shoes. I filled them with Smooch inks wrapped in cellophane and tied with ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge for the purses, which I cut at "Fit To Page". I lined the bottom with white feather boas.

This gift card holder was made for the GIBBS swap. I did not use any specific template. I just made sure I had 1/2" allowance when I made the envelope.

Blue Ornament for My Sheri Crafts

I made this ornament as a Design Team project for My Sheri Crafts. This week's theme is "Hannukah". The projects are either Hanukkah-themed or makes use of the traditional blue and white Judaism colors.
To make this rosette ornament, I cut 4 pieces of 2"x12" strips, then I punched along the edges using a snowflake border punch from EK Success. I scored the paper using 1/2" increments vertically, fan-folded it then glued two pieces of fan-folded paper together to form a rosette.

I glued the rosette to a 3" empty ribbon spool. I repeated the same at the back of the ribbon spool. Then I tied a piece of 5/8" silver ribbon around the spool. It is important to tie the ribbon used to hang the ornament prior to gluing the stamped image because it will serve as a guide on the placement of the circle. The stamped image is from Just Rite Stampers that I embossed using a sky blue embossing powder from Hampton Arts. The frames are from Spellbinders, and I dotted the scallops using enamel accents. To finish off the look, I lined the edges of the rosette with tinsel.

Have A Holly Jolly Christmas!

I was one of those crazy people who made up the horde that went to Wal-Mart on Black Friday. :-D I ended up with only one purchase-- the Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cartridge. I used the sketches at Raq's Challenge to make all three cards.

I cut the girl at 2". The tricky part was her legs. I ended up cutting another layer at 3", just so the legs will not get torn. I used paper from Core'dinations, and the background designer paper and the plaid ribbon are from Hobby Lobby. The dark green ribbon is from Offray and the crystals are from The Paper Studio. I used Stickles, chalk and wiggly eyes to complete her look. The frames are from Spellbinders and I used Liquid Pearls on the scalloped circle.

The snowman was cut at 2". I used chalk to make his cheeks rosy and added wiggly eyes. The background paper is from last year's DCWV's Christmas Stack. I dotted the design on the paper with enamel accents. I added Flower Soft on his hat. Ribbon is from Offray and the frame is from Spellbinders.

I used Martha Stewart's Cornice border punch for the scallops and layered two of them, instead of placing a ribbon. I don't want to make this too frilly since this is for my uncle. Santa was cut at 2", with the exception of the layer for his face, which I cut at 2 1/2". I used Flower Soft to imitate the look of fur, and Enamel Accents for his eyes. The background frames are from Spellbinders and the sentiment was computer-generated. The background paper is "Country Santa", from Hobby Lobby.

Hello Card For My Sheri Crafts

It has been getting colder and the sun has been sorely missed! Our project for this week at My Sheri Crafts is a break from holiday crafting. We would just want to greet everyone "Hello", in the hopes that all is well. :-)

I cut this card using my Wild Card cartridge, at 4 1/2". The greeting is also from Wild Card, which I inked along the edges and applied chalk on, for a subtle shade of green. The scallop circle and the center circle were cut using Spellbinders. I embossed the butterflies from the Patterned Bugs stamp set from Inkadinkado using two shades of pink. Cotton Candy Stickles was applied along the edges of the light pink butterflies to emphasize the shape. I used Liquid Pearls along the scallop edges, the butterflies and to form the tiny flowers on the card. The paper is from DCWV's Garden Party paper pack.

Vintage Christmas ATCs

I made these ATCs for a swap over at the Cricut MB. I used Graphic 45 paper, with the exception the ATC of the boy and the snowman. The background double-sided paper is from DCWV. I used an assortment of embellishments...border die cuts from Blossomwood by K&Co, a tassel from Jolee's, crystals from The Paper Studio, Tim Holtz fragments, and of course...plenty of Stickles and Liquid Pearls.
