A Card For Dad

We have an "Anything Masculine" challenge at My Sheri Crafts, hosted by design team sister Sandy.  Well it's Dad's turn to be celebrated, so I decided to make a card for Father's Day.  I used Chocolate cardstock for the base, and made a stamped collage using the My Hero stamp set, an exclusive hostess incentive from Close to My Heart. I cut the frames using some Spellbinders dies.  The background was stamped with Bamboo ink, and the sentiment and main image was stamped using Chocolate ink.  I added Baker's twine and some Durable Triangle Studs to complete the simple, masculine card.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Our challenge at My Sheri Crafts is to make a masculine card/project with embossing, in celebration of Father's Day.   I used my Old West cartridge for this card.  I cut the letters at 2" and the hat was cut at 1 1/2".  The paper is from DCWV.  I embossed all the die cuts and the background paper with Cuttlebug folders for a raised, textured look.  I added some inking, baker's twine, metal brads and Viva Decor "Pearls" in Bronze to complete the card.  The scalloped portion of the card was punched using Martha Stewart Cornice punch.

Diamond Fold Father's Day Card

I made this diamond fold card for the Father's Day celebration at My Sheri Crafts. You can find the instructions on Splitcoast Stampers: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/diamondfoldcard/.

I used paper from Basic Grey's Cupcake 6x6 paper stack, and The Paper Studio. The sentiment was stamped using JustRite Stampers. I made the frames using my Spellbinders Nestabilities dies. Embellishments include: Liquid Pearls, Enamel Accents and baker's twine. I kept the design simple since dad is a no-nonsense guy. :-)

Dad loves spaghetti Westerns, and that was my inspiration for making this card. The photo was printed using sepia tones. The handbills were from Old West, cut at 5 1/2", the words "Wanted" were cut at 2 1/2" and the cowboy hat at 1". The background paper is from The Green Stack from DCWV. The abaca rope is from the Philippines. The brads are from The Paper Studio. The ink is from ColorBox.
