Splish Splash!

Summer is slowly making its way towards us and Sheri, our fearless leader, challenged us to make a project featuring a beach, water, or swimming. I made a pocket mini album for my Picture My Life Seaside 4"x6" cards. I just eyeballed the dimensions to make pockets big enough to hold the cards, and I added a 1/4" allowance along the edge for binding. I used a Bind-It-All punch to punch the holes, and I wove some jute twine to close the book off. I added some Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape to seal the edges of the pockets. I embossed the pockets to add texture. The embellies are stickers from my stash, images from the Picture My Life Cards that I had fussy cut, and some Sequins Gold Assortment.

We'd love to invite you to make a splash at My Sheri Crafts with your aquatic summer projects!

It's Graduation Day!

Design team sister Glenda challenged us with a Graduation Day theme at My Sheri Crafts. Today, I am doing something that I have never done before in all the years I've been blogging. I have a guest designer.

My three-year old's student teacher was also graduating, and his teacher was requesting for the kids to make cards as a surprise for Miss Aubrey. Kiko came up with this. After three attempts, he managed to stamp a straight, crisp image on the white cardstock. It's off-centered, so he added a diploma sticker to the side. I gave him a choice on which ink color to use, and he chose Glacier. The stamp set is from Congratulations Graduate from Close To My Heart. The end result was a simple, sweet card. Once again, I'd like to thank Sheri for allowing me to have my proud mommy moment here.

I'd like you to come join us at My Sheri Crafts for our biweekly challenge!

A Birthday Bash!

Design team sister Marge challenged us with a birthday-themed card, and part of the challenge was to make a matching envelope. I used the Time To Celebrate paper pad for this challenge once again. I layered an image on two designer papers, added some Prima flowers, vintage lace from former DT sister Charlotte, and a pearl flourish from Recollections. The envelope is just a simple one using coordinating paper. I make my own envelopes sometimes. I just add an extra 1/2 each per side, and make sure that there is a 1 1/2" allowance between the top flap and the envelope opening. I do have two Cricut machines, but I feel that there is too much waste on the paper if I use it instead of my template. I made the envelop first and used the scrap for my A2-sized card.

We'd love to see what you've made at My Sheri Crafts!
