Christmas Spirit

Welcome to another fun My Sheri Crafts challenge! We are feeling the Christmas Spirit in our blog! Design Sister Sandy requests for us to make a vintage-inspired card or project. I have been busy making some pretties for my online swaps and here they are! I am not done with my Christmas crafting yet, so there's more to come. I made some folders using paper from Tone Finager and Graphic 45, and filled up the pockets and mini envelopes with die cuts from Tim Holtz and Die-namics, and some tags and clothespins from Target and Marshalls. The stamped images that I colored with Copics are from Close To My Heart, Magnolia and Sara Kay Designs.

I also made some handmade Project Life cards for Christmas, using paper from Craft Smith. The die cut tree is from Cheery Lynn Dies. The wooden embellishments are from Paperchase and I got the washi tape and gold polka dot mini kraft banner from Hobby Lobby. The Red and Silver Shimmer Trims are from Close To My Heart.

Another project that I made are some tags using Tim Holtz Sizzix dies, stencils, Distress Sprays and designer paper. The wooden embellishments are from Paperchase.

I also made a pouch and a mini envelope filled with die cuts and wood embellishments for the swap hostess.

Lastly, here's a pocket letter that I made using paper from Craft Smith and Close To My Heart. I colored "Jill" the Prima paperdoll with Copic markers. I added some die cuts from Sizzix, burlap flowers and confetti from Hobby Lobby, and Paperchase wooden embellishments.

We would love to have you join our Christmas challenge at My Sheri Crafts!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are celebrating Thanksgiving at My Sheri Crafts! This is the first time in a while that I have been off for Thanksgiving. I am thankful for that alone. I made a card for my little boy to send to his Grandma. I used the sentiment from Holiday Tags. The paper is from last year's fall paper pack from Close To My Heart, Pathfinding. I added some cork circles from Pathfinding Assortment, and a strip of Chocolate Paper Fundamentals in a houndstooth pattern (retired). I could not resist adding some bling with Sequins Gold Assortment.

Tag...You're It!

Our fearless leader at My Sheri Crafts, Sheri, is challenging us to feature a tag in our project. I made a tag for the handmade gift bag for a swap tomorrow. I am part of a local group of crafters who meet every two months for lunch and to swap. I used paper from Craft Smith and I have an ice-cream theme for all the handmade goodies. The theme for the swap is "Sweet Thang" and the items for swaps are: a bottlecap charm, a card, and a maker's choice, all packaged nicely (hence the bag with the tag). I also included pictures of what's going inside the bag for those of you who are curious. I have not covered the bottlecaps with the acrylic cover yet since it causes glare. The ice-cream truck is a battery-operated tealight holder.

All cuts are from SVG Cuts :-)

Nevermore Haunted Cottage

Our Design Team Sister Raquel from My Sheri Crafts challenged us to make a Halloween project for treats, bags or any cute projects. I was so excited when I made this Haunted Cottage from SVG Cuts using the Nevermore Paper Packet since it features two favorites of mine--Steampunk and Halloween! I used black cardstock for my base and inked it up with White Daisy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. I inked the edges of the designer paper with Cocoa Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. The windows had vellum under it. The roof was stamped with images from Steampunk Scoundrels. Now all my cottage needs is an electronic tealight and it's all set for Halloween!

Pretty In Pink

I have family members and friends who have battled or are still battling cancer. I'm hosting our challenge and I wanted to spotlight Breast Cancer Awareness month. Pink is also a celebratory color, so let's celebrate life and lend our support to those who are fighting for theirs.

I colored a digital image from Slinky Tart with Copic markers. The artist is Tamara van Wijk. She makes the cutest pin-ups that are so much fun to color. The card base is from DCWV and I added some word stcikers from Tim Holtz, crystals from Recollections and some flowers from Recollections and The Paper Studio.

Please join our challenge at My Sheri Crafts and let's all lend our support in fighting the big C!

A Tic-Tac-Toe Card

Design sister Sue challenged us with a Tic-Tac-Toe card at My Sheri Crafts. Here are the possible combos for the challenge:

ABC along the top and 123 down the side.Going down column A Colour Brown Butterfly and ribbon. Down B. Twine, metal embellishment and tag. Down C Stencil, flower and lace.

I chose Brown, Twine and Stencil for my card. The background paper is from K&Co's Blossomwood and I added texture paste on it. I used a Heidi Swapp stencil both for the texturing and for inking the white cardstock. The ink used are Desert Sand and Chocolate from Close To My Heart. I created some shadowing in the basketweave pattern using a brown Close To My Heart watercolor pencil. The stamp set is a September Exclusive from Close To My Heart, called "Hello Life". I added a paperclip and Baker's twine for even more texture.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Fall can't come soon enough here in the desert. Design Team sister Glenda challenged us with a fall-themed project featuring a scarecrow or a pumpkin. I wanted to combine the old and the new in my fall layout, so I colored a retired JRL scarecrow stamp with Copics, and made a two-page layout from the Reflections Scrapbooking Guide. I used the Sangria Paper Packet and Complements, and Gold Sequins Assortment as flower centers. I added some Bronze and Coral Shimmer Trim to the border. The sentiment was cut at 6" Real Dial Size Off using my Cricut Artbooking cartridge.

We are looking forward to seeing your projects at My Sheri Crafts!

"Long Time No See"

Design Team sister Raquel came up with a our "Long Time No See" theme at My Sheri Crafts. Our challenge is to create any project that conveys the following messages: "Thinking Of You", "Hello", "Miss You", "Wish You Were Here", etc. I made a couple of 5 1/2" cards using the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge from Close To My Heart. I used some Ruby Paper Fundamentals, Crystal Blue Cardstock to make the base, and added some Pacifica ink along the cardstock edges. I added some Red and Blue Shimmer Trim and Red Enamel Hearts to complete the cards.

More Shadowbox Tags

I wanted to personalize the tags that I made for the My Sheri Crafts Challenge, so the something extra that I added to them are some sentiments from Teresa Collins. These tags are safely at home with their new owners. I used Tilda paper from Tone Finnager and colored some Tilda images with Copics. :-)

I couldn't wait for our next lunch swap! The tags I got in return for mine are awesome! They are now on display in my pegboard.

Decorating at My Sheri Crafts

Our biweekly challenge is hosted by DT sister Sarah, who encourages us to show our decor. I made some shadow box tags to hang on my peg board in my craft room. It's quite easy...you make a shallow box, then punch or pierce a hole at the top, add lace, twine, or ribbon, and decorate! Here's a You Tube link that I used as an inspiration for it, from Live Love Scrap. I used paper from Tone Finnager, colored some Tilda images and decorated the box with flowers from Prima and Recollections. I also added some crochet lace that I got from a swap and WalMart.

Here are some sample shadow box tags that I made and how they look like on my peg board:

Country Strong At My Sheri Crafts

Hello everyone! August 2-8 is National Farmer's Market week, so our theme for our challenge is Country Strong. We would like to invite you to share your country or farm-themed card or crafty project with us at My Sheri Crafts. I made a pocket letter using Graphic 45's Home Sweet Home and Domestic Goddess paper packs. The wood veneers are from Studio Calico and the washi tape is from Recollections.

An Ariel Birthday Card

We will be celebrating kids' birthdays at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Sue challenged us to create a card for a child under 13. My little boy's friend is turning 4, so I made an Ariel shaker card for her. I resized the Ariel that I drew and colored with Copics and made her the center of the design. I added some cupcake and sequins confetti, and framed the shaker border with Pink Shimmer Trim. The background paper is from Basic Grey. A swap pal of mine was kind enough to make me the turtle and the fish that I added as card embellies.
