Altered Mini Paint Can

I got this paint can from Hobby Lobby for my swap sister's chocolates. My inspiration for it was French Country, so I chose paper from K&CO because it reminded me of vintage wallpaper. I lined the edges with Tim Holtz tissue tape. I placed some cream-colored tulle and berry sprays on the handle and added some crystals on the lid.

Vintage ATCs

I made a set of Artist Trading Cards for a swap sister. She has been joining ATC swaps and I thought I would add to her collection. The images are from Tim Holtz, ATC Collection and 7Gypsies. The white frame in the yellow ATC is from Melissa Frances. Paper used are from Tim Holtz, Me and My Big Ideas and K&Co.

A Boy-themed Card

It's "All About Boys" this week at My Sheri Crafts. I colored Edwin using my Copic markers, trimmed the image and paper pieced it so that his overalls will have a different "fabric". I used Basic Grey's Offbeat 6x6 paper pad for the hat, overalls and background paper. The rub-ons and the flowers are from Cloud 9. The sentiment was stamped using Chocolate and Blueberries Cat's Eye Ink from ColorBox. The stamp is from Just Rite Stampers, trimmed using Large Circles from Spellbinders. I used Pop Squares on the image for added dimension. The paper for the wooden "bench" that Edwin is sitting on is from Tim Holtz, embossed using Distressed Stripes embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

Copic markers used:
Skin: E00, E11, E13, E15
Cheeks: R01, R20
Hair: E51, E53, E55, E57
Shirt: W01, W03, W05
Shies: E31, E33, E35

Sunflower Expression Cover

The other theme for one of the days for the swap was "For the Birds". My swap sister loves Europe and she is pretty active with FFA. It made me think of French Country and the recurring theme of roosters in the design. I made this cover using the pattern from Custom Crops. I added an inch extra on both sides. I had sewn a piece of yellow fabric as an accent to the overall design.

Altered Spice Jars and Shiny Flowers

The other themes for the swap were "Glass" and "Shiny". I had some spice jars lying around and I just printed out the words "Got Trim", cut it out using my Spellbinders die, and covered it with paper and tissue tape from Tim Holtz. The design was kept simple since I wanted the focus to be on the pretty blue trim I filled them up with. I was thinking that this would also make good gift containers for scrappers who love buttons, brads, skittles, etc.

For "Shiny", I made this box using K&CO's Handmade paper line. The film strip, ticket, and the paper with the vintage prints are from Tim Holtz. The flowers are from Prima.

To achieve the shiny effect on the grunge roses, I first applied a layer of Pink Tutu Glimmer Glam, then I inked the edges with pink Cat's Eye. I dipped the roses in melted clear ultra thick embossing enamel. I used a heat gun to get rid of the air bubbles.

Vintage Layout

I made this layout based on what my swap sister had said about her grandmother's garden. She also has a lovely daughter and I was inspired by the thought of a heart filled with love-- a wonderful heritage that has been passed on from generation to generation. Just like flower seeds, love planted and nurtured will continue to grow more beautiful each day.

I used paper from Amanda Blu and K&Co. I also used my paper lace cartridge so that I could have the look of an old quilt for my photo mats. I used Martha Stewart border punch on the strips of pearlized cardstock. I embellished the layout with Viva Decor pearl pens, and Prima Flowers. The tags are from 7 Gypsies and the journaling frames were cut using Spellbinders. The font is from Gypsy Font, cut at 1 1/4".

Vintage Stickpins

I made these stickpins for a swap at the Cricut MB. The word for the week was "Beautiful rainbows". All the stickpins are in different colors of the rainbow. I added clear crystals, to reflect the light source. :-)

Graphic 45 Altered Notebook and Tags

Our theme for this week at My Sheri Crafts is "All About Girls." I wanted to feature some vintage ladies for this week's projects. I used paper from Graphic 45's Communique and Fashionista, and Gartner. I altered a composition notebook (it costs about a dollar at WM) and made a couple of tags. The black diamond crystals are from Prima. The black velvet ribbon and red ribbon flowers are from Offray. To accent the binding, I added some stickpins. I covered the edges of the notebook with Tim Holtz tissue tape for a cleaner look.

The brown lace lining the inner pocket is from Prima.

I made an envelope for the page next to the back cover, for receipts, coupons, etc. The film strip used on the notebook is from Tim Holtz, attached using Glossy Accents.

The "J" charm at the back cover is from Tim Holtz.

I made the black bead flourishes on the tags using Enamel Accents.

Love Layout Project for My Sheri Crafts

I love Valentine's Day no matter how commercialized it seems. I always make it a point to be off on that day. I made a layout with a "love" them in mind. The paper is from Webster's Pages, and I made the frames using paper from Basic Grey's Two Scoops 12x12 Collection Kit and the Classic Frame by Spellbinders. The flowers and pearl swirls are from Prima. The sentiments, and flourishes are from Home Decor. With the exception of "memories", which I had cut at 3/4, they were all cut at 1".

Pearl Anniversary Card for My Sheri Crafts

I was inspired by pearls when I made this card. I used paper from DCWV's Luxury paper stack that I layered over paper with a quatrefoil pattern from Me and My Big Ideas. I chose a monochromatic palette, focusing on shimmery silvers and pearls. I used the resist technique when I stamped the Silhouette Kiss image from Inkadinkado; then sprayed the image with mist and stamped over it with a script stamp. The sentiment was computer generated and I used my Spellbinders dies for the frames and the tag. The corner punch was Eyelet Lace from Martha Stewart. The heart-shaped pearls are from Recollections and I used Liquid Pearls to finish off the card.
