In Celebration Of Moms

Motherhood is a joyful occasion!  I'm hosting our biweekly challenge and since Mother's day is around the corner, I decided to celebrate all Moms!

I used the Mother's Day Stamp Set from Close To My Heart for the images and sentiments.  The designer paper is from Close To My Heart's Balloon Ride Paper packet and the Ivy Lane Paper Packet.  The green strip that I punched with a Martha Stewart Border punch in the second card is from the Ariana Paper packet.  I used Kraft Cardstock for the scalloped oval frame that I punched using a Spellbinders die.  I used Spellbinders to make all the frames, Martha Stewart border punches, Silver Viva Decor Pearl Pen, Pebbles Chalk and various Close To My Heart Ink Pads.

These are the first two of the cards that I will be making for the craft show for Paradise Valley High School.  I will be sharing the rest of them in future posts.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there, especially to my Mom and my Mother-in-Law, Glenola!

New Blog...New Adventure!

Hi everyone!  I would like to introduce my latest baby...my new blog!

I decided to become a Close To My Heart Independent Consultant and would love to share my new journey with you.  I will still be posting on this blog and may feature some of the Close To My Heart projects that I made, but the promotions will be posted on the new blog.  It's still practically baby, so watch it blossom and grow!

Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Card Fronts

I used the Top Note die from Sizzix to make the card front, and Tim Holtz Rosette die for the rosettes which I topped with Prima mini roses.  I made some stick pins in coordinating colors to add some interest to the otherwise simple card fronts.

I'd like to enter these to the following challenges:

Cuttin 'N Stampin Challenges
7 Kids Challenge- Anything Goes With A Twist

Graphic Sweet Sentiments Spring Cards

I made a set of spring cards for a swap at the Cricut message board, using Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments paper pack.  I made background frames using Spellbinders, accessorized with Stickles, silk and paper flowers and some crystals for the flower centers.  I did some fussy cutting for these cards that are quite easy to replicate. :-)

I'd like to enter these cards to the following blog challenges:

Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments Altered Mailbox

I bought a mailbox from the dollar bin at Target and decided to "prettify" it with some Sweet Sentiments paper from Graphic 45.  I made background frames for the main images using a Spellbinders die.  I did a lot of fussy cutting, added a Prima flower, some Stickles and inked the edges to complete the look.  I filled the mailbox with some spring-related embellishments to give to a fellow crafter.

I am entering this project to the following blog challenges:

Sweet Sentiments Altered Basket

I made a small Easter banner using Core'dinations cardstock and paper from Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments paper pack.  I made labels using Spellbinders dies and used Enamel Accents and Liquid Pearls to create the faux pearls.  The pennants were cut using the Pretty Pennants Cricut cartridge, cut at 3" and strung together using some wooly yarn in pastel colors.  The base was embossed using "Kassie's Brocade", a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

A Moment Of Laughter

April 14 is "International Moment Of Laughter Day" and our DT sister Charlotte wanted us to create a project that contains some humor.  I want to give this card to a friend at work who loves to tempt all the dieters with her homebaked goodies.  :-D  I had eaten my willpower several times over...and I loved it!  :-D

I used paper from DCWV, SEI and Prima, clip art from Crafty Secrets' Domestic Goddess Creative Scraps (that was a mouthful!), and a Spellbinders die to make the frame.  For the paper lace, I used a Martha Stewart punch, a pink polka dot washi tape,  and pink Liquid Pearls. I added Baker's twine to make a tiny bow and some pink crystals from Recollections to finish off the card.

Sweet Sentiments Graphic 45 Tri-Shutter Mini Album

This is a tri-shutter mini album that I made for an online swap.  The most comprehensive tutorial that I have found so far for this type of mini album is the one from Mallika.  I used Spellbinders dies for the frames, a butterfly border punch and large butterfly punch from Martha Stewart,  and Cheery Lynn dies for the filigree designs.  I added K&Co paper lace, Stickles and Ranger Enamel Accents for "pearls" to finish off the mini album.  The lace is from our DT sister Charlotte.

I am sharing this project with these blogs:
