Easter Wishes

We are celebrating Easter at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Sue, is our hostess for our biweekly challenge and she challenges us with making a card featuring either a cross, bunnies or eggs. I had to play with the Hopping By stamp set when I saw how fun the images were! Can you imagine a car made out an egg or a carrot, or even a hot air balloon egg? I colored the images with Copic and ShinHan markers, and I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Markers for the wheels. The designer paper is Hopscotch, from Close To My Heart. I added some White Enamel Stars, White Shimmer Trim, and the sorbet hearts from the Chalk It Up Assortment. I embossed the background coordinating cardstock with Honeycomb, Chevron and Vine Embossing Folders.

Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Card Fronts

I used the Top Note die from Sizzix to make the card front, and Tim Holtz Rosette die for the rosettes which I topped with Prima mini roses.  I made some stick pins in coordinating colors to add some interest to the otherwise simple card fronts.

I'd like to enter these to the following challenges:

Cuttin 'N Stampin Challenges
7 Kids Challenge- Anything Goes With A Twist

Sweet Sentiments Altered Basket

I made a small Easter banner using Core'dinations cardstock and paper from Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments paper pack.  I made labels using Spellbinders dies and used Enamel Accents and Liquid Pearls to create the faux pearls.  The pennants were cut using the Pretty Pennants Cricut cartridge, cut at 3" and strung together using some wooly yarn in pastel colors.  The base was embossed using "Kassie's Brocade", a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I am entering this project to the following challenges:

Sweet Sentiments Graphic 45 Tri-Shutter Mini Album

This is a tri-shutter mini album that I made for an online swap.  The most comprehensive tutorial that I have found so far for this type of mini album is the one from Mallika.  I used Spellbinders dies for the frames, a butterfly border punch and large butterfly punch from Martha Stewart,  and Cheery Lynn dies for the filigree designs.  I added K&Co paper lace, Stickles and Ranger Enamel Accents for "pearls" to finish off the mini album.  The lace is from our DT sister Charlotte.

I am sharing this project with these blogs:

Easter Candy Jar

Here's another project that I made for the DT challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  I altered a Prego bottle, and since it's Easter, I made the bottle an Easter hat. :-D  Here's the tutorial for it that I tweaked a little bit: http://peachypapercrafts.blogspot.com/2012/08/top-hat-tutorial.htm.

I used paper and stickers from Basic Grey's Lemonade 12x12 paper pack, added Prima flowers and some Basic Grey buttons for the flower centers.  The jar is filled with Easter mini Reese cups. ;-)

Watch out for more Easter projects!  Stay tuned...

Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Easter Banner

Easter is almost here!  Sarah, our DT sister wanted us to make "anything but a card for Easter".  I had some little projects for Easter and this is one of them.  I used paper from Graphic 45, DCWV for the base and frames. I cut this banner at 5" using the Pretty Pennants Cricut cartidge.  The frames were cut using Spellbinders and embossed using the Plum Blossoms Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The lace is from our DT sister Charlotte.

I am so excited to celebrate Easter this year.  It's a wonderful coincidence that it falls on my birthday weekend. :-D  For this week's design team project, I made a card using an image from Stampavie, framed using Spellbinders dies, and colored with Copic markers.  The designer paper is from Prima.  I made the flowers and leaves using Cheery Lynn dies.  The lace is from our DT sister Charlotte and the border punch is from Martha Stewart.

A Baby Boy's Easter Basket

Our projects at My Sheri Crafts this week is all about spring's pastel colors. Easter is coming soon, and I want to be well-prepared for it, considering that it's my little boys' first. I altered a $5 basket from WM using cuts from my Cricut cartidges. The Easter greetings was cut at 2" and the egg measures 4", both are from the Easter cartridge. The lamb, chick and bunny were all from the Create-A-Critter cartridge, and all three measure 2". The eggs that I used as a base were also from the Easter cartridge and were cut at 3".
For those who are curious as to what's inside the basket-- I have a chick and bunny Weebles, a book with the title "Where Are Baby's Easter Eggs", some soft balls (football, baseball and football), and a couple of toy attachment for the exersaucer.
I used paper from DCWV, Bazzill, Basic Grey and GCD Studios. I added some ink along the edges, chalk and googly eyes to give the cuties their own personalities.

Graphic 45 Bunny Card For My Sheri Crafts

Beautiful paper always presents a dilemma. It is almost heartbreaking to cut or even think of covering it up. For this week's bunny theme, I used paper from Graphic 45's Once Upon A Springtime paper pack and stamped images from Graphic 45/Hampton Arts. I used Pebbles chalk for the background inside the Spellbinders frames. The pink cabochons along the corners are from The Paper Studio. The flower is from Prima.

I got the crinkle ribbon from a swap (thanks Dianne! :-D) and the stickpin is from Tracy (thanks again, Tracy!! :-D).

I colored the bunny image using Copic markers.
Here's the color guide:
Bunny- E31, E33, E35
Sweater- YG11, YG13, YG17
Skirt- E93, E95, YR82
Butterfly- BG72, BG75, BG78, BG10, BG13, BG15, BG18
*It was past midnight when I typed the draft and guess what? Instead of hitting "Save Now", I had hit "Publish Post" and the post did not even have pictures in them! To my post subscribers: thanks for being patient and sticking with a goofy blogger like me.

Easter Cards

I am finally caught up with my Easter cards! I have been working non-stop which left me with but little time to craft. I will have four days off this week and another six days by next week. Thinking of all the time off makes me happy. :-)

Sherri is the host of this week's RAQ's Challenge. The sketches were mostly circles.

I made another Faberge Egg card. I colored it with Perfect Pearls, then layered it with Smooch. Ribbon is from Offray and the background paper was embossed using the Victoria Cuttlebug folder. Punch that was used is from Martha Stewart.

I substituted the square with a flower from Spellbinders. The stamp was from the dollar bin at Michael's. Paper is from DCWV and the scalloped circle is from Spellbinder's. Ribbon is from an old stash. Border punch is from Martha Stewart. The egg brad, and the other Easter-related brads on the other cards are courtesy of Lee Ann. :-)

I used a stamp from Stampendous for the third sketch. Paper is from DCWV and the layered flower is from Prima.

I also had to play catch up with the other challenges that I missed. My inspiration for my Easter cards is www.cuteoverload.com. That site always makes me smile.

Michael's has the most adorable dollar stamps. This is again from the dollar bin. The bunny was colored using chalks. I substituted the sentiment with a flower. Martha Stewart edge punches were used. The flourish is from Spellbinders.

The chocolate Easter bunny is from the Cricut Easter seasonal cartridge. The bow is from Offray. I glued a piece of DCWV paper under a Tim Holtz Fragment and used it as an embellishment. The dragonfly punch is from Lee Ann. :-) Papers are from DCWV. I accented the whole card with Liquid Pearls and Skittles.

I used the Stampendous stamp again for this card. The background paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The crystals are from Say It In Crystals by Prima.

This card is from hubby's grandma. The round chick from the Easter card is just too adorable, I can't pass him up. The scalloped circles are from Spellbinders. The ribbon and buttons are from my stash and were bought 5 years ago. The brads are from The Paper Studio.

Metallic Easter Card

I used the fourth sketch from RAQ's Challenge for my Easter Card.

My inspiration for this card is the Faberge Egg. I found this stamp from my sash and it's from Holly Berry House. I colored it using Perfect Pearls. The background was embossed using Stylized Flowers. The ribbon is from Offray and the lace is from The Paper Studio. Designer paper used is from DCWV. The pearls are from The Paper Studio. The punch is from EK Success.

St. Patty and Baroque Minimalism...Plus Bunnies Too!

We had three wonderful sketches at RAQ's for this week. There was also an extra credit for making a St. Patty's/Father's Day/Mother's Day card. St. Patty's is closer, so I made a couple of them.

Sketch 1 was flipped sideways. I used paper from DCWV, flowers from The Paper Studio. Brads are also from The Paper Studio. The stamped image is a retired stamp from Stampin' Up, colored with pencils and accented with flower soft. Ribbon is from Offray. The beads used for the sentiment was from a pack bought at Hobby Lobby. The marquee is from Storybook, cut at 4 1/2" and embossed with Stylized Flowers.

Sketch 2 was all about tags. I used paper from MAMBI. The stamp is from Studio G, found at the dollar bin. The tag is from Sentimentals, cut at 3". I added green skittles to balance the layout. Ribbons are from Offray.

Sketch three features the same stamp, arranged around the swirl vine from Joys Of The Season, cut at 1 1/2". I distressed and painted some metallic ink on the vine cut. The paisely paper is from DCWV. I embossed the backgound with D'vine Swirls and added gold liquid pearls. More green skittles were used in the background.
