Design Team sister Raquel is hosting our Birthday Celebrations theme at My Sheri Crafts, which is a wonderful coincidence since my little boy will turn 3 on the 19th of this month! He will be the Caped Crusader for a day, and in keeping with the theme, I made invitations with matching envelopes, Thank You cards, gift bags and matching decorations to fit the theme. Using the Batman Cricut cartridge, I cut the invitation at 5 1/2". The envelope was made by folding over a piece of Black Cardstock measuring 6"x12". I closed off the edges with Tim Holtz tissue tape and glued on the bat cutouts from the invitation. I altered the blue gift bags that I got from Michaels with a Batman emblem, cut at 2" using the Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge. The bat is from once again, the Batman cartridge, cut at 3 1/2", at real dial size off. I used Black, Slate and Pacifica Cardstock from Close To My Heart mixed in with a darker blue and bright yellow cardstock from Core'dinations.

A Fun Summer Paperdoll
Design team sister Raquel from My Sheri Crafts challenged us with a "Food, food and more food!" theme. Part of the challenge was to create a project that features any type of food cuts or embellishments. I made a birthday card with a detachable paperdoll and outfits featuring cupcakes and a glass of juice. Now how yummy is that? :-)
I used strips of Lollydoodle paper packet that I punched out so as to create scallops. I could not decide which patterns to use, so why not all of them, right? :-) The sentiment is from Cricut Artiste Birthday, stamped using Desert Sand Exclusive Ink. I mounted it on a small piece of rectangle Kraft cardstock. The stamped images from Paper Doll were colored using Copic markers.

Prima's Jack 'n Jill/Basic Grey Birthday Card
In celebration of America's Birthday, Sarah from our DT gave us the challenge to make birthday cards. The stamped image of the two kids are from Prima's Jack and Jill collection, colored with Copic markers. I added Stickles on the confetti since I am a big believer of sparkly confetti. :-) The paper is from Basic Grey's Cupcake line. I added a Prima flower, a coordinating stick pin, yellow and orange Baker's twine, Basic Grey buttons, Liquid Pearls and a frame cut using Spellbinders to finish off this card.

I Scream For Ice Cream! :-)
It's in the high 100s where I'm at right now and nothing could be more fun to eat than ice cream. That's our theme for our bi-weekly challenge at My Sheri Crafts. I was fortunate to have the perfect paper from Basic Grey's Cupcake paper stack. I used my Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge to cut the ice cream at 3" and the sentiment was cut at 1 1/2". I used Cat's Eye inks for inking. The frames are from Spellbinders. I used Martha Stewart's Cornice border punch for the border and Viva Decor pearl pen for the "chocolate dots".

My Sheri Crafts Celebrates Its Second Birthday!
We have a party atmosphere right now at My Sheri Crafts. We have just turned TWO!!! :-D Our theme is "colorful, kid-themed birthday". I decided to use my all-time favorite Create A Critter cartridge once again. The bear and balloon were cut at 2", and the sentiment is cut at 1 1/2". The gift measures 3". The squares were cut using Spellbinders. I decided to keep the embellishments and card simple since young kids like to focus more on colors and cuteness.
I used paper from Basic Grey and cardstock from Bazzill and Core'dinations. I added googly eyes, bling, inking and chalk to give the card more personality.

Button Up!
Our weekly theme at My Sheri Crafts for this week is "Buttons". I wanted to make something fun, whimsical and festive for this week's project. :-D
I cut the panda from Create-A-Critter at 2". The paper is from Basic Grey's Cupcake paper pad. The background paper mat is from DCWV. I used buttons from Basic Grey for the balloon centers. The balloons were cut using my Spellbinders dies. The stamped sentiment is from JustRite Stampers. The grass was cut freehand. To finish off the card, I used pop dots on the panda, some of the balloons and applied Stickles along the edges to make the card sparkle.

Fairytale Tilda
My husband was baffled the first time he saw Tilda. He was wondering where her nose and mouth went. I started drawing them on my stamped images just to placate him. lol! I used the second sketch for this week at RAQ's Challenge for my card. The sentiment is from Sweet Treats, cut at 1'. The paper is Anna Griffin. I used a Martha Stewart corner punch and the flower punch is from EK Success. Stickles were used to emphasize the image, and chalk for the background.

RAQ's Challenge Cards
We had four sketches for this week at RAQ's. Carolyn made these awesome sketches and it was great to finally put my ideas into paper.

I just had to do a yin-yang card when I saw this sketch. I also wanted to make the cherry blossoms in the Pagoda cart. The symbol was cut at 3" and the flowers at 1 1/2". I accented the smaller flowers with liquid pearls. The gold paper is handmade from India.

I wanted a tropical-looking card for sketch 2, so I used Life's A Beach. The flower is actually the sun, cut at 3" twice with the middle layer cut at 2 1/2". Part of the card challenge was to try a new technique. I have been dabbling with a lot of techniques, but I have not seen anyone try to layer flock with flower soft just yet, so that's what I did for the flower center. I also did some inking, which is something that I have not done yet. The sentiment is from Sweet Treats, cut at 1 1/2". Paper is from K&Co and the border punch is from Martha Stewart. The arrows were drawn freehand and cut manually, since I wasn't sure if I had a cart with an arrow in it.

I made another Valentine's Day card for the third sketch. The cuts are from Love Struck. The striped heart is actually a cut from a swap, and I believe it measures 3". I cut the heart border at 1 1/2". The sentiment is from Plantin' Schoolbook, cut at 3/4". The brackets were cut at 1". The larger brackets are stickers from The Paper Studio. The papers were from MAMBI and the ribbon is from Offray. Liquid pearls and stickles were used to embellish the cuts.

For the fourth sketch, I decided to make another birthday card. The anthuriums were cut at 2" and inked. Flower soft was used for the center. The scalloped circle was made using Nestabilities and embellished with liquid pearls. The dragonfly is a sticker from Jolee's. Handmade paper from India was used for the scalloped circle. The green paper is a scrap.

Here's the scanned file of the kanji that I made for the Pagoda cards. It translates to: "O-tanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu", or "Happy Birthday" in Japanese. You can skip the "gozaimasu" if you're greeting a close friend or family member.

Sketch 2 Cards
These cards are for the second sketch, made for another swap sister who's also a huge Twilight fan. I flipped the sketch for the Twilight card. "Kiss" is from Love Struck, cut at 1". I used liquid pearls for the border.

Here's the .jpg file of the sketch. Feel free to download and use it as a digital stamp, as long you don't crop the signature off. By the way, Robert Pattinson is fun to draw. :-)

I also made a mini card for a swap sister who will be celebrating her birthday by the time she will receive mail from me. The cardstock is actually from the Sweet Matstock, folded in half. The actual card measures 2 1/4"x 3 1/4". I call it a "cardette", if there is such term as that. lol! It could also be a good size for a gift tag. The cake slice is from Sweet treats, cut at 1 1/2". The ribbon is from Offray. I used Spellbinders for the frames and liquid pearls for the frame accent. The border punch is from Martha Stewart.
