Have A Holly Jolly Christmas!

I was one of those crazy people who made up the horde that went to Wal-Mart on Black Friday. :-D I ended up with only one purchase-- the Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cartridge. I used the sketches at Raq's Challenge to make all three cards.

I cut the girl at 2". The tricky part was her legs. I ended up cutting another layer at 3", just so the legs will not get torn. I used paper from Core'dinations, and the background designer paper and the plaid ribbon are from Hobby Lobby. The dark green ribbon is from Offray and the crystals are from The Paper Studio. I used Stickles, chalk and wiggly eyes to complete her look. The frames are from Spellbinders and I used Liquid Pearls on the scalloped circle.


The snowman was cut at 2". I used chalk to make his cheeks rosy and added wiggly eyes. The background paper is from last year's DCWV's Christmas Stack. I dotted the design on the paper with enamel accents. I added Flower Soft on his hat. Ribbon is from Offray and the frame is from Spellbinders.


I used Martha Stewart's Cornice border punch for the scallops and layered two of them, instead of placing a ribbon. I don't want to make this too frilly since this is for my uncle. Santa was cut at 2", with the exception of the layer for his face, which I cut at 2 1/2". I used Flower Soft to imitate the look of fur, and Enamel Accents for his eyes. The background frames are from Spellbinders and the sentiment was computer-generated. The background paper is "Country Santa", from Hobby Lobby.

Hello Card For My Sheri Crafts

It has been getting colder and the sun has been sorely missed! Our project for this week at My Sheri Crafts is a break from holiday crafting. We would just want to greet everyone "Hello", in the hopes that all is well. :-)

I cut this card using my Wild Card cartridge, at 4 1/2". The greeting is also from Wild Card, which I inked along the edges and applied chalk on, for a subtle shade of green. The scallop circle and the center circle were cut using Spellbinders. I embossed the butterflies from the Patterned Bugs stamp set from Inkadinkado using two shades of pink. Cotton Candy Stickles was applied along the edges of the light pink butterflies to emphasize the shape. I used Liquid Pearls along the scallop edges, the butterflies and to form the tiny flowers on the card. The paper is from DCWV's Garden Party paper pack.

Vintage Christmas ATCs

I made these ATCs for a swap over at the Cricut MB. I used Graphic 45 paper, with the exception the ATC of the boy and the snowman. The background double-sided paper is from DCWV. I used an assortment of embellishments...border die cuts from Blossomwood by K&Co, a tassel from Jolee's, crystals from The Paper Studio, Tim Holtz fragments, and of course...plenty of Stickles and Liquid Pearls.

A Woman Can Never Have Too Many Purses...

I gave Jen two coordinating purses for our swap. I used paper from DCWV's Mariposa line for both purses. The butterflies for the wooden purse are from Recollections. I was not too keen on the original natural wood color of the purse, so I painted it with espresso acrylic paint. The flowers are from Prima, edged with Stickles (Aqua) to make them more sparkly.



I decorated the handle with an aqua-colored ribbon, a Prima flower and a trio pearl pin from Maya Road.

The second purse is from a 7 Gypsies mini album kit. The lace border with the flowers is from Prima. I got the ruffled lace from Jo-Ann's. The strap is a grosgrain ribbon from Offray. I added a velcro dot to make the purse more functional. Tim Holtz tissue tape and Heidi Swapp paper tape hold the glued edges together, making them more secure.

Blue, White and Silver Banner

I gave this banner to my friend Jen in our GIBBS (Girls I'm Broke Box) swap. I had cut the snowflakes, sized 5 1/4" using the Winter Wonderland cartridge at Blackout. The fonts are from Storybook, cut at 4". I used paper from Core'dinations and the crystals are from The Paper Studio. The "pennants" were embossed using the Holly Ribbons Cuttlebug folder.

The snowflake center was cut using my Spellbinders dies. I attached a crystal brad from my stash. I could not recall the specific brand since it was part of the supplies that I used when I scrapped my honeymoon pages, almost 5 years ago. The snowflakes eyelets (pricey!pricey!pricey! :-o ) were bought off e-bay.

Turkey and Pumpkin Cards

Okay, I admit. I went a little crazy and made a few more turkeys from my Create A Critter cartridge. It's my favorite turkey among all the turkeys that Cricut has. He is "fairest of them all", so to speak. :-D I used paper from My Mind's Eye for my cards. The cardstock is from Core'dinations. The oval pumpkin was scraplifted from some fabulous ladies in the Cricut MB. I had seen Michelle make some in the past, and I loved them, so I made some too. :-D The scalloped pumpkin is something that I have seen before in the Spellbinder's website. I folded four scalloped ovals in half, and glued the sides together to make a pumpkin. The labels are from Spellbinders and sentiments are computer-generated.

I used sketches from RAQ's Challenge as my inspiration for these cards.

Thanksgiving Door Hanger For My Sheri Crafts

I had fun making this door hanger for this week's Design Team Project. I cut a 12x12 chipboard in half and covered it with paper from Basic Grey's Ambrosia line.

The letters are from Alphalicious, cut at 1". The oval and scalloped oval frames are from Spellbinders, and I embossed them using D'vine Swirl. I dotted some Liquid Pearls along the scallops.

The turkey is from Create A Critter, cut at 2 1/2". I used Gold, Tiara and Sequins Stickles.

The upper and lower part of the door sign was embellished using the flat (yes..flat!!! :-D) stickers from the Ambrosia line. I know that "flat stickers" are treated like the plague by some crafters, but I do like to use them to personalize the designer paper. :-D Besides, who on earth can resist Basic Grey?

Snowflake Cards

I made a set of Christmas cards for a friend. She loves the blue and silver combination. I also followed the sketches at Raq's Challenge, over at the Cricut MB.



I used Sketch 2 for this card. It does not show as well, but the diagonal sparkly blue cardstock are in two shades.
