We're celebrating a Funky Christmas at My Sheri Crafts! I altered a printer's tray from Michael's with paper from Graphic 45's Nutcracker Sweet collection,--featuring teal, purple, pink, peach and yellow mixed with traditional Christmas colors. The main images were covered with Glossy Accents, outlined with Stickles and pop-dotted. This project makes me smile everytime I look at it. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving from My Sheri Crafts!
I made a card for our Fall/Thanksgiving celebration at My Sheri Crafts. I colored using Copic markers a funny stamp from the clearance bin at Hobby Lobby. The designer paper is from Basic Grey and Prima. I added feathers, a Prima flower, white enamel accents and a border punched with a Martha Stewart punch to finish off the card.

A Little Comfort
Sarah from our DT gave us the challenge to make a sympathy/thinking of you card to give comfort to the receiver. I had this paper pack from Bo Bunny that I have not even touched yet, and have been as usual, just hoarding. :-D
The card measures 6x6" and the font is from the Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge, cut at 2". I added some pearls and flowers from Prima and crystal flowers from Dress It Up to finish off this simple card.

A Night Owl's First Hallowe'en
I was very excited when Charlotte gave us a challenge featuring "The Night". Well it's about time I make a layout featuring the baby's first Halloween. I fussy cut the pumpkins and owl and raven strips from a Halloween-themed paper from Reminisce. I made paper lace using a bat border punch from EK Success. The cobweb paper is from DCWV. The font was cut using the Happy Haunting Cricut cartridge and measures 1 1/2". The moon is from October 31st, cut at 2". I traced the edges of the letters and the pumpkins with Stickles to make this simple layout pop.
The night owl was asleep all throughout the photo session. :-)

Stitch Time!
Sue from our DT at My Sheri Crafts challenged us with a sewing inspired project this time around. I made three "feminized Tim Holtz" tags using Tim Holtz stamps and Sizzix dies. The designer paper is from Melody Ross for GCD Studios. I used the resist technique for the background, with the exception of the third tag. The lace is from Charlotte, the ribbon is from The Paper Studio and the trim is from a Cricut Message Board swap. I added Baker's twine and crystals from Recollections for added bling.

Native American Day is celebrated every fourth Friday of September. I made a fall-themed card for my DT project for My Sheri Crafts. The stamp was bought off e-bay. I colored the image using Copic markers. The designer paper is from Basic Grey and Prima. I added frames cut using Spellbinders and a border using a Martha Stewart punch. I added some feathers, a Prima flower, stickers from Webster's Pages and white Enamel Accents for my embellishments.

At The Pumpkin Patch
Our requirement for this biweekly challenge sponsored by Marge was to create a card/project using fall colors. We took the baby to the pumpkin patch at Mother Nature's Farm last year to pick his pumpkin and we might do it again this year.
The main background and the 10x10" insert are from Basic Grey's Curio paper pack. I fussy cut the pumpkins and the scarecrow from a Halloween designer paper from Reminisce for my embellishments. The paper lace, postage stamp and label are stickers from the Curio paper pack. I added Stickles for sparkle.

A Card Inspired by Chocolate
Raquel from our DT at My Sheri Crafts came up with this delicious challenge in celebration of National S'mores Day. I used the equally yummy Sweet Stack from DCWV for this card. The cupcake was cut at 2 1/2" using the Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge. I added Liquid Pearls along the scalloped frame, the chocolate layer of the cupcake and the punched border. Stickles were added on the heart topper. The frames were cut using Spellbinders dies. I added Baker's twine and chocolate brown borders punched using a Martha Stewart punch on the accent panel. I also used the matching Martha Stewart punch for the corners of the card.

Back to School With My Sheri Crafts
This another project for Kenzo Gunner's future teacher. :-) Glenda is hosting for this week, and she came up with our challenge theme: "Back to School", and we are to feature a bus or a schoolhouse. I used paper from Prima for the background. The schoolhouse was cut at 2 1/2" using the Heritage Cricut cartridge. I cut a label using a Sizzix die and placed a Tim Holtz inside it. I added leaf flourishes cut using Cheery Lynn dies, roses from Kaisercraft, and frames for the schoolhouse, cut using Spellbinders dies. I added faux pearls on the scalloped frame using Viva Decor Pearl pen.

Let's Take A Trip!
We took the baby to visit his grand parents in Alabama last year. This challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to scrap the pictures that I took of him during the car ride. He got bored and to amuse himself, he decided to bite his toes. lol!
I used a designer paper from Pink Paislee's London Market paper pack for my background. The inked paper behind the photos is from K&Co. The font and arrows were cut at 2 1/2" using the Summer Vacation Cricut cartridge. I added some flowers from Sassafras Lass, a Tim Holtz token as a flower center, a car image from Graphic 45, and a label cut using a Spellbinder's die for journaling.

What's the BUZZ?
This challenge's requirement is to make a summer-themed card or project featuring the colors yellow, black and white. I was thinking of a bee, but since I am a butterfly/dragonflyholic (it's a new word that I coined) :-) I decided to feature my other favorite winged creature. I cut the main image at 2 1/2" using the Damask Decor cartridge . The contrasting polka dot papers used were from GCD studios and DCWV. It was pretty late at night when I made the card and I noticed the next morning that the "white" was more cream. I decided to submit it anyway, since I liked the slightly aged look. :-) I punched the corners using a Martha Stewart punch, added pop dots and Viva Decor faux pearls and... voila! We have a summer-themed card.

In celebration of America's Birthday, Sarah from our DT gave us the challenge to make birthday cards. I added Stickles on the confetti since I am a big believer of sparkly confetti. :-) The paper is from Basic Grey's Cupcake line. I added a Prima flower, a coordinating stick pin, yellow and orange Baker's twine, Basic Grey buttons, Liquid Pearls and a frame cut using Spellbinders to finish off this card.

Summer Solstice
Sarah from our DT, required us to feature sunrise/sunset in our summer challenge from My Sheri Crafts. I had a picture of our little family, taken in Panama City Beach that I thought would be perfect for this challenge.
I used Webster's Pages for the background paper. The journaling tag that I tucked inside a pocket that I created at the side of the photo is also from Webster's Pages. The flower doily was cut from the Easter cartridge, at 7 1/2" and the round doily was from Cindy Loo, cut at 5". I added crystals from Recollections, a Tim Holtz token, flowers from Recollections, Prima and Petalloo to frame the photo. The stickers that I used were from a swap. The metal tag is from Making Memories.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!
Our challenge at My Sheri Crafts is to make a masculine card/project with embossing, in celebration of Father's Day. I used my Old West cartridge for this card. I cut the letters at 2" and the hat was cut at 1 1/2". The paper is from DCWV. I embossed all the die cuts and the background paper with Cuttlebug folders for a raised, textured look. I added some inking, baker's twine, metal brads and Viva Decor "Pearls" in Bronze to complete the card. The scalloped portion of the card was punched using Martha Stewart Cornice punch.
Happy Father's Day to you Dad!

Butterfly Garden Gatefold Mini Album
I am hosting once again our challenge at My Sheri Crafts. I thought of "May Flowers", hence the "Flower Power" theme. :-) The requirement is to use 3-dimensional flowers in a crafting project.
I have started this mini album when Kiko was a baby and finally finished it last week. Yes, it took me almost two years to make it. I was glad that I waited though since I was able to incorporate some die cuts that I made using Cheery Lynn dies. For this album, I used paper from Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden paper pack. I also added a Melissa Frances designer paper for one of the pages. The flowers and butterflies are from Prima and Recollections, and the gate laser cut is from Maya Road. I got the flowers in the last page from Kim, from one of the swaps in the Cricut message board. I added some lace from my stash, buttons and a cameo from Webster's pages, a Tim Holtz ticket and key, and tags from 7 Gypsies to fill up the pages. The punched butterflies were made using Martha Stewart punches. The crystals and pearls are from Prima, ZVA Creative and The Paper Studio.
I would also like to enter this project to the following challenges:

Happy Mother's Day From My Sheri Crafts!
I remembered reading when I was little, a Russian folklore entitled "My Mother Is The Most Beautiful Woman In The World". I went home after school and told my Mom about it and up to now, I still tease her about being the most beautiful woman in the world. I meant it back then and it still holds true up to now. :-)
Sandy, our DT sister gave us the directive on making a project that reminds us of our moms. I went the literal route with this one. My Mom loves pink, period movies, flowers and jewelry. I thought the Paris Girl paper pack from Carta Bella would be a perfect backdrop to the stamped image from Hampton Arts/Graphic 45. I added flowers from Prima, lace from The Paper Studio and font stickers from Echo Park. The frame was cut using a die from Spellbinders, and inked using Cat's Eye ink from ColorBox. I added Stickles to add shimmer to the dress.
Copic colors used are:
Skin: E00, E01, E02
Cheeks: R22
Dress: RV21, RV23, RV25
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there, and most especially to the Most Beautiful Woman In The World! ;-)

Arbor Day
April the 26th is coming close and guess what we're celebrating on that day? :-) The title of this post gives it away. lol! Anyhow, it's my turn to host the Design Team Challenge at My Sheri Crafts and I wanted a theme that celebrates nature and our environment. I particularly love the fairies in this Graphic 45 designer paper, so I decided to incorporate this image in my card. It's a happy coincidence that the paper from Basic Grey's Curio collection coordinates with it nicely. I added some flowers and flourishes I made using Cheery Lynn Dies, Stickles and faux pearls using Viva Decor Pearl pen. The flourishes were also colored with Smooch inks for a pearlized look.
I hope you will take time to join our challenge at My Sheri Crafts and let's all remember to care for our environment--it's our legacy to our children.

Tilda As Butterfly
We are welcoming a beautiful, early spring at My Sheri Crafts. :-) I always think of flowers and butterflies when I hear the word "spring". I colored a Tilda image with Copic markers and used the Sweet Fairy line from Prima for my background paper. I was thinking more in the line of a magical spring. I added Stickles and crystals from Recollections and The Paper Studio for added sparkle. The frames and butterfly were cut using Spellbinders dies and I inked the edges using ColorBox ink. Come join us this week at My Sheri Crafts and we are looking foward to seeing your lovely work!

Happy Easter from My Sheri Crafts!
I am so excited to celebrate Easter this year. It's a wonderful coincidence that it falls on my birthday weekend. :-D For this week's design team project, I made a card using an image from Stampavie, framed using Spellbinders dies, and colored with Copic markers. The designer paper is from Prima. I made the flowers and leaves using Cheery Lynn dies. The lace is from our DT sister Charlotte and the border punch is from Martha Stewart.

An ABC Primer Bookmarks
The design team at My Sheri Crafts are one with the rest of the country in celebrating Read Across America. I thought of making some bookmarks. My challenge was to make something that does not stick out so as not to damage the book's pages. To address those issues, I decided to layer some coordinating retro-style patterned papers from DCWV, then I added Stickles, plaid washi tape, fabric tape, and Liquid Pearls from Ranger to add interest. I made tabs using a punch from McGill to make handling the bookmarks easier. The main images are from Graphic 45's An ABC primer paper pack. I am saving the whole set for Kenzo Gunner's teacher's gift when he starts kindergarten...four years from now. lol!

Time To Go Fishin'!
We have a fun theme at My Sheri Crafts...and it has everything to do with fishing! The challenge is to create something with a fish on it. I made an Asian-themed card using a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the central design. I used paper from Graphic 45's Bird Song Collection, and cardstok from Bazzil. I added Baker's Twine, a Chinese zodiac embellishment, and turquoise-colored gems from Queen & Co for the koi's eyes.
